Backyard Deck and Patio, 2009

This house came with two little porches (if they were big enough for that) off of each back door. There weren't really usable. So we decided to rip them out and put a larger usable deck in their place, and a larger set of steps off the back bedroom.

This project quickly snowballed into removing two trees from the back yard that were either in the way (or planted too close to other trees) and redoing the stone patio with properly set even stones.

These pictures below are of the work during construction.

Digging the holes for the piers. Either that, or we have a gopher problem.

Rebuilding the old fence that was there. It was removed to get room to remove two of the trees in the back yard.
